Make It Right for Raff

I’m Chris, one of Raff’s closest friends. Raff was family to me, and his family in Brazil have become my family too. His mother calls me her son. His brothers call me their brother. I promised him that if he died, I would look after them, and I have taken that promise seriously.

Raff was early to Solana. Like, really early.

He jumped at the chance to travel to one of the first Solana Hacker Houses in Moscow, then had to leave abruptly when the conflict broke out.

After that, he kept showing up for the Solana community around the world. The US, Europe, Brazil, and wherever else he could be useful.

He was part of this ecosystem before most people knew what it would become.

That is one of the reasons this matters so much. Raff showed up for this community. His family deserve a happy ending here.

This campaign is about making things right for Raff.

In January 2026, US$32,708 connected to Raff’s memorial fund was stolen during the wider SNS related wallet and domain compromise. I do not think this donation page is the right place to go through every detail of what happened, but anyone who wants the full background before donating can read my post here:

The first milestone is to restore the US$32,708 that was taken from Raff’s memorial fund.

But this is not only about replacing what was stolen. It has also become an urgent practical situation for Raff’s family.

Since the theft, I have been stuck trying to deal with the aftermath while also handling Raff’s belongings, devices, and family commitments across multiple countries. I travelled to Lisbon to collect some of Raff’s personal things so they could eventually be returned to his family in Brazil. There are also several suitcases of his belongings in storage in New York, including personal items, clothes, and things his family want and deserve to receive.

Some of Raff’s devices and accounts still need to be accessed so his data can be backed up, his records can be preserved, and anything useful for his family can be identified and protected. Right now, I cannot complete that process from the UK. I need to get to New York, deal with the storage situation properly, then return to Brazil with Raff’s belongings and support his family in person.

The larger goal is Raff’s dream: helping move his family out of the favelas and into safer housing. Where they are now, they do not have reliable basic services, and they live with real danger around them. Raff wanted to help get them somewhere safe. I promised him I would try.

This campaign has 2 goals:

US$32,708 restores the amount taken from Raff’s memorial fund.

US$75,000 would allow us to go further by helping with the urgent logistics around Raff’s belongings, devices, and family support, while also taking a meaningful step towards safer housing for his family.

All funds raised here will be kept separate and used only for Raff’s memorial fund, his family, his belongings, and the commitments connected to his memory. I will share updates so contributors can see how the campaign is progressing.

Transparency and custody

Funds will be routed to a 2 of 3 multisig controlled by trusted members of the Solana and Superteam communities, including representatives connected to Superteam Brazil and Superteam UK. Spending will require multisig approval and will be documented publicly.

The purpose of the multisig is to make sure funds cannot be moved by 1 person alone. Any movement of funds will require approval from at least 2 of the 3 signers, with spending decisions discussed between the signers and tied directly to the goals of this campaign.

Funds will be used only for Raff’s memorial fund, Raff’s family, the logistics around his belongings and devices, and the longer term goal of helping his family move somewhere safer.

Progress will be shared transparently on this page as each goal is fulfilled.
