The Story Behind $JUST4CAM
This isn’t just another token. $JUSTCAM is a movement born out of a family's fight for justice, accountability, and the protection of vulnerable children who can not speak for themselves.
Camden, an autistic child, was subjected to severe neglect at the Lakemary Center facility in Kansas. Despite his complex medical and behavioral needs, the facility failed to provide adequate care, leading to a series of alarming incidents. Tragically, Camden lost 8 adult teeth due to profound negligence. Rather than providing immediate medical attention, the facility wrongfully blamed his injuries on his autism and denied him the care he desperately needed.
Following a formal report of suspected abuse, Camden was immediately removed from the facility and transferred to Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago. Due to a systemic lack of suitable, safe placements for children with complex needs, Camden remained hospitalized for 104 days—a prolonged stay that further exacerbated his suffering. And that is not even half of it.
