Beyond organized and institutional charity, there exists a vast and often overlooked realm of compassion — informal, spontaneous, and deeply human acts of mutual care.
Within it are individuals who rarely receive recognition, yet continue to give quietly and consistently. They offer long-term, selfless support to strangers with no personal obligation — simply out of conscience and kindness.
Acting on their own, they take initiative and commit themselves to helping others over time, often at great personal cost. Some have raised abandoned infants, cared for elderly people with no family, risked their lives to rescue others, or devoted themselves to supporting the most vulnerable. Others have founded grassroots mutual-aid groups or struggled to build and sustain small welfare initiatives with their own hands.
We call them “individual doers of good.”
